New cleaning wedges for Progalvano bell contact

The Progalvano’s cleaning wedges: an innovation for the maintenance of bell contacts

One of the products that best represents Progalvano’s approach is the cleaning wedge for bell contacts mod. 2000 and for mod.1000. This tools were developed in response to a real need, the cleaning of bells, which is often neglected due to time difficulties in the production context.

Why cleaning the cathode contacts?

The cleaning and the proper maintenance of bell contacts are fundamental operations for every galvanic line. A lack of bells cleaning leads to insufficient current conductivity, with negative impacts on the treatment process of small parts loaded into the barrel. Despite the importance of this maintenance, there is often a lack of time between production shifts to perform a careful cleaning.

The Cleaning Wedges are an autonomous and effective solution

To overcome this deficit, Progalvano developed a wedges to be installed on the edge of the tank that cleans the bells independently. The wedges, model 2000 and 1000, are made of PE (polyethylene), with an AISI 316 back closing plate and two lateral brass brushes, designed for coupling with our standard and bar bells mod. 2000 and mod.1000 as well.

Brass brushes have a specific abrasive action that only acts on the dirt residues inside the bells, without damaging the tin plating. The brushes are arranged on the sides of the wedge and are designed to remove dirt to ensure a gentle but thorough cleaning.
